Steven and I were able to take a mid-week vacation at the beginning of August, just the two of us, for the first time in way too long! We’ve had a couple of quick one night get aways in the past couple of years, one for the photography business and the other for a concert. So, needless to say, we were really looking forward to the trip. Our last long trip that was just the two of us was our honeymoon almost 5 years ago.
So, Steven and I ended up heading to Wisconsin. We only stayed away 3 nights, so we didn’t want to spend most the trip driving. We originally intended on spending most of our time in Madison, but the morning we were leaving, we had a last minute change in plans. Thankfully, Steven’s bother, Eric, told him that the Crossfit Games were going on in Madison the same time we planned on staying there. Nothing against Crossfit, but I didn’t really want to fight 300,000 (or however many) other people for hotels in the area. So we went to Madison for the day, but didn’t stay there super long. We did manage to find an awesome camera store, spending money that I hadn’t intended on spending but walked away with a beautiful new lens 🙂 We ended up road-tripping to wherever looked fun, hiked at a couple state parks, ate so much great food, hit up a winery and distillery, and relaxed. It was great and much needed. So, here are a few photos from our travels, a lot are from testing out that new lens!
Here are a few from the good ol’ iPhone.
