I can not even begin to fully express the gratitude I have for all of the women who came to celebrate themselves and the women who worked to make them feel like rock stars.  The Love Yourself Valentine’s Day Event was So. Much. Fun.  A lot of work, but a lot of fun. All of our beautiful guests arrived to Wild Roots Salon and started their day with hair with either Jawni or Morgan and then headed over for some make up with Taylee.  Once they wrapped up those looks, they come to me for a few portraits.  They were able to choose from their own wardrobe or Cortney, the amazing owner of Rural Bliss, brought clothes they could try on and use as well.  Most of the ladies ended up going on a little shopping spree with the amazing clothes that were brought to us.  So, once outfits were decided, I worked with all of the ladies creating portraits that they love.   Let’s take a moment to acknowledge that portraits of ourselves are so important!  As a mama and photographer, I’m guilty of being behind the camera just as much of the rest of us, but I’m doing better at handing the camera to my hubs so I can exist in the photos too.  Ladies! Exist in photos.  Get portraits taken just of you, for you and your loved ones!  I promise you won’t regret it one bit. Not a tiny bit even.  I offer full portrait sessions with hair and make up, come to me and I’ll do the rest!  Back to the event…   So after the portraits were taken, I gave the ladies a little preview of what was to head their way.

For the rest of the day, the awesome and talented Katie Bogner worked with everyone on how to embrace and love their handwriting. She made fun little packets of cards and paper for the ladies to create great things with.  She even made an awesome workbook to help guide them along the way.   Along with the workshop, Kayla of Kayla Phillips Design also had a pop of shop of her beautiful graphic design work that the ladies could shop at.

All of our ladies took home a swag bag full of goodness.  Just part of it included hair products from Jawni, a Chamber of Commerce gift certificate to go out to eat with, goods from The Cow Patty , I put in a note gifting a matted print of one of their portraits, and there was so much more!  It was a nice little surprise and thank you for all the ladies that attended.
