As a kid with an older sister in 4-H, I remember there was nothing I was more excited for than to turn 8 so I could FINALLY join in the fall. It was the best. I was a member of the Steuben Ranger’s club for 10 years. When I was old enough, I joined Fashion Board and Federation in high school. I made countless memories and a lot of great friends from being involved in 4-H growing up, much of who I am today can be attributed to being actively involved in 4-H and FFA.
Fast forward almost 10 years since my least fair, the program is still alive and well. I was approached by an awesome committee to photograph their first Farm to Table Fundraiser dinner to help bring in some more funds for the 4-H programs since the state is, well to put it nicely, behind with paying out needed funds. The dinner was held at Tanner’s Orchard which is an amazing family business that brings in people from far and wide. If you ever travel there, you must get their cider and cider donuts! Being raised on their cider has tainted any other gallon I have tried, nothing compares honestly. The dinner was oh so delicious and made with love by a 4-H alum mom and family. All the food was donated by amazing community members. There was live music, great conversation, and the program was generously gifted a great amount of funds to share with the 4-H members. They’re planning on doing it again next year, so keep an eye out if you would like to attend!!
